There are Mysteries, Thrillers, Cozies, and Contemporary Romance with a touch of mystery. A true Romantic Suspense is where 50% for the story is about the relationship, and 50% is the suspense. If you can take the suspense out of the story and still have a completed story, you’re not writing a suspense. It’s a 50/50 deal. And they must be woven together.
